ePortfolio Student Learning Spaces: Symphonic Reflections on Ways of Knowing

Communities formed in ePortfolio environments become reflective spaces through teacher scaffolding of pupil conversations across interdisciplinary boundaries. Since these conversations are held on the web, students can include "objects" retrieved from their web research in their posts to one another. Through these team collaborations, students become active agents in their own knowledge production. Teams of students from Basic Skills, Freshman Composition and courses from a range of disciplines produce a Camtasia digital story on their research project. Dr. Jean Darcy introduces three distinct models of collaborative learning environments successfully implemented at Queensborough Community College. The faculty using the models will present the projects with student created artifacts.
