The 2011 Spring Colloquium provides professionals an opportunity to partake in an enhanced learning environment that gives an in-depth perspective to the academic realm. While allowing our partners to share both their interests and talents in the field with other attendees, our conference will provide others with a new approach to education. We are eager to receive your submissions and welcome your participation in the conference.

Tracks include:

Transforming Assessment: From Grading to Offering Learning Experience

Assessment is a dynamic process to facilitate students’ progress towards expected learning outcomes. Rather than being separated from instruction, good assessment is integrated to teaching and learning. This track will demonstrate how various innovative assessment strategies are used to provide students in-depth and reflective learning experience and as a result improve student learning.

Integrative Learning and ePortfolios
A goal for educators is to develop their students’ abilities to connect their classroom learning experiences and knowledge to their academic, professional, community, and personal lives.   This track will explore the uses of eportfolios for integrative learning, assessment, and career purposes.

The Online and Blended Learning Environment – Today and Tomorrow
Get the most out of your digital classroom. Join other educators to discuss the best practices used to enhance teaching online/blended classes.  Discover and discuss emerging technologies and virtual learning environments shaping the future of education.  Are you ready? This track is suited for all levels of experience.

The Higher Education Teaching Experience:
Join other faculty in discussing ways to improve and enhance teaching skills. This track is ideal for new educators who want to discuss fundamental pedagogical techniques and the challenges today’s faculty face in higher education.

Make the Learning Authentic - Engaging Students through Experience
Experiential learning is recognized as a dynamic way to engage students in learning and help them connect their classroom activities with real world experiences.  When connections can be made between what is learned in the classroom and what is experienced in real life, the learning becomes authentic.   This track will emphasize the current state-of-the-art practices, program design, and learning outcomes in experiential learning.
